An established artist, illustrator and writer, Denbigh Sale began her career as an artist in 1960 when she exhibited with a young Brett Whiteley, Robert Hughes and others, at the Clune Gallery in the Young Artists Exhibition for promising young artists of the 60s.

Since then, she has exhibited her paintings in numerous solo and mixed exhibitions at regular intervals. She has won various prizes and commendations and her work is represented in private collections both in Australia and overseas.

Denbigh was a tutor for 18 years at Sydney’s Waverley Woollahra Arts Centre, in watercolour, figure drawing, pastel and pastels/mixed media. Denbigh, has been an art judge at Sydney’s Royal Easter Show three times.

Denbigh’s illustrations have been published in two children’s books, and she is currently illustrating the second of five books she has written for children. Denbigh is a recipient of The Professional Children’s Writer’s Course from the College of Journalism.

Denbigh loves the art, food and language of Italy, cottage gardens and dogs. She divides her time between Sydney, the Blue Mountains and Tuscany.
